There is something special about a "girlfriend". There's a bond that forms when you meet that can be either strong or weak. The strong ones last forever and the weak ones will either desolve or loosly continue. Either way, they form a network of connections that becomes a circle of friends. We are so lucky aren't we? I haven't had this circle for a very long time. It's taken me too many years to figure out why. Without the whole long drawn out story- it's because I put too much focus on my husband and not enough on me. Friends, this blog is about me and my personal growth as a woman. It seems that my head has been stuck in the sand for way too long and now that it's out, I am descovering so much about myself. I have always known how importany friends were, but the friends I had were the type that took and never gave. When I had something that I needed to talk about, they would aways turn it back around and we would end up solving their problems not mine. After a while I would assume that we really didn't have that much in common anyway and would drop them. When I met my husband, I was starting a new life and had to leave all past old friends behind. I call it my "past life". My husband "B" had hundreds of friends, mostly guys, but with the guys came the girl friends. But as we all know girlfriends come and go so I never really was able to hold on to any. So there I am sans friends, or real friends. I have recently started a new chapter in my life and now have time to cultivate new firendships and I am so looking forward to it. My advice, don't let others keep you from finding your own friends. Find and connect with as many women as you can. In this fast paced world we need all the support we can get and your girl friends should always be there for you to listen, sympithise, empathize or laugh you and cry with you and sometime ask you what the hell you were thinking, but you need them and the more the merrier.
